Mr. Cubeiro’s practice centers on firearm regulatory compliance, which serves to assist gun owners, businesses, law enforcement, and others with understanding the complex firearm regulatory environment at both the state and federal levels. For the past several years, he has authored all the updates to the California Gun Laws book, regularly assists in Michel & Associates litigation efforts, and answers all the firm’s client’s questions concerning firearm laws.

While attending law school, the landmark case of Peruta v. San Diego was decided by a 3-judge panel of the Ninth Circuit. Having always had a passion for firearms, Mr. Cubeiro reached out to the firm to inquire about working in the field of firearm law, and the rest is history.

Before heading the firm’s firearm regulatory compliance practice, Mr. Cubeiro was responsible for tracking all ongoing firearm-related litigation in the United States. He also led the firm’s Local Ordinance Project, which served to intervene on behalf of gun owners and Second Amendment advocates whenever a local government proposed to adopt an unconstitutional or otherwise illegal anti-gun ordinance. More recently, Mr. Cubeiro became a licensed international broker under the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls.

In addition to practicing firearms law, Mr. Cubeiro is dedicated to the advancement of education and safety for all firearm owners. He is certified by the National Rifle Association as an instructor in Pistol, Rifle, Personal Protection in the Home, Personal Protection Outside the Home, and Metallic Cartridge Reloading disciplines. He is also certified by the National Rifle Association as a Range Safety Officer.

Today, you can find Mr. Cubeiro heading CRPA’s Santa Clara/Santa Cruz Chapter, as well as on Youtube where he has posted several videos discussing the complex nature of firearm rights restoration.
